Queen of Jhansi - Rani Laskhmi Bai
Rani of Jhansi is a great patriot and is known as one the most important freedom fighters during the First War of Independence in India.
Lakshmi Bai grew up in the company of warriors like Nana Sahib and Tatya Tope to become a skilled soldier. Married and widowed at a young age, the brave queen assumed the tough responsibility of preserving the freedom of Jhansi against the British.
Lakshmi Bai was no match for the British power, but her efforts and bravery set examples of greatness. She fought bravely till her last breath and laid down her life for the benefit of freedom.
She is often portrayed on a horseback fighting with the British, with a sword in her hand and her son tied around her back. This brave daughter of India has been a great influence on the Indian freedom struggle and still continues to inspire the world.
