Lord Venkateswara is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the Kalyuga. He is known by several other names such as Venkatachalapathi, Venkataramana , Tirumal Devar, Varadaraja, Srinivasa, Balaji and Bithala. Lord Vishnu took the form of Lord Venkateswara in the kalyuga to save the people against material evils and bless them with happiness and prosperity.
In His incarnation as Lord Venkateswara, Lord Vishnu married princess Padmavati, who was a re- incarnation of Vedavati- Lord Vishnuâ€™s devout. That is why, He is often depicted with Padmavati residing on the right side of His chest, while Goddess Lakshmi on the left side.
Lord Venkateswara is believed to reside inside the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, which is situated in Southern Andhra Pradesh. The temple is located at the top of the seven hills in a place called Tirumala.
